Ploy, 11
Ploy unexpectedly jumped in the van when we went to pick up some of the kids from a home visit in 2022. She came quiet and distant, almost afraid to open up. She was a hard one to connect with, which makes it all the more rewarding when she does decide to let us in.
Her Story
Each child's story is their own to tell so we share only the parts that are appropriate. In time, we believe the testimony that God is giving them is something they'll share to help and encourage others. Until that time, we will share those things which aren't too deeply personal but will still give you insight into the hearts and minds of these young people God has sent to us.
October 2024 Update
As Ploy has made Bible reading a habit, we've watched her go from very withdrawn to a little jokester who never fails to bring a smile to our faces. She's slow to anger and is quick to forgive. She's loyal to her friends and will be the first to stand up for them if she feels like they've been mistreated by someone.
Ploy feels most comfortable in an oversized t-shirt and sweatpants and would prefer to not have dresses in her wardrobe. We bought her four or five cute outfits before her last school break and we've never seen her wear them. Layering her clothes is something she takes very seriously, though.

She chose to learn piano and when she sets her mind to it she's a fast learner with the cutest shy smile when she plays. Her time before evening worship is spent in the chapel at her piano, working through the things she's learning.
