Nuu, 14

Nuu came to live with us (with her youngest sister, Bpao) in April of 2022, joining her other two sisters, Yim and Alu. Not too long after she arrived she decided she didn't like foreigners and she attempted not to make eye contact with us and she avoided interaction as far as possible. God is faithful, though, and with time and patience she changed her mind. She's now very loving and interactive.

Her Story

Each child's story is their own to tell so we share only the parts that are appropriate. In time, we believe the testimony that God is giving them is something they'll share to help and encourage others. Until that time, we will share those things which aren't too deeply personal but will still give you insight into the hearts and minds of these young people God has sent to us.

October 2024 Updates

Nuu epitomizes quiet ... until she doesn't. She seems reserved until just the right moment strikes and then you're reminded that there's more than one dimension to this slip of a girl.

She seems to keep her expectations lower than some of the other children, and as a result, she is content much of the time. She's generally faithful to her responsibilities, she's low-maintenance, she loves to run and play games with the others, and she has a healthy sense of humor.

The school term just ended and Nuu is looking forward to getting to have more down time and she's hopeful we'll be able to do some things off the property that we don't get a chance to do when school is in session. She and her sisters won't be visiting family during the break so they're looking forward to the quieter pace here while there aren't as many people for a few days. These kids aren't unlike the average child from the average home ... the enjoy quality time spent with them in more intimate settings.

Nuu is also learning piano and her quiet persistence pays off. She is learning and enjoying the process. This girl has many qualities I would like to cultivate in myself ... I wish I felt like I was teaching the kids half as much as they teach me!
