Paet, 13
More than 3 years ago this guy popped into our lives the day before his 10th birthday. He was raw and hurting and he looked to his big sister, Kwan, for his cues. We've watched their bond strengthen over the years and we've watched this boy transition into a young man.
His Story
Each child's story is their own to tell so we share only the parts that are appropriate. In time, we believe the testimony that God is giving them is something they'll share to help and encourage others. Until that time, we will share those things which aren't too deeply personal but will still give you insight into the hearts and minds of these young people God has sent to us.
October 2024 Update
Paet's school is on the mid-term break and he and his older sister, Kwan, left yesterday to visit family for 10 days. His departure leaves a resounding silence where there's been the beautiful gift of guitar accompanying our song service during daily times of worship.

We I set out to update this website with updated information and more recent photos, I was struck by just how much Paet has grown and changed in a very short period of time. He's taller, his voice is deeper, his face has matured, and his temper has given way to far greater self-control.

He and Phot are the best of friends and they spend basically all their time together. It's been interesting to watch the good points of character each of them possess as they rub off on the other. If this trend continues, we're going to have two very thoughtful, chivalrous young men on our hands.

We've recently had some deeper spiritual talks with the kids, and Paet sometimes shies away from wanting to think beyond the surface about things of such magnitude. But the other day, I witnessed something in his eyes that I hadn't seen before and it made me realize the conversations that seem like they aren't going anywhere really are seeds being planted and God does the watering in HIs timing and in His way.
